Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I know we sure did! I was expecting it to just be us and at the last minute our friend Raz and his son joined us, we were more than happy to have them.  I started the night before and prepared a few things and then cooked all day on Thursday.  Everything was going so good, I was ahead of schedule, the house was clean, just perfect!  All of sudden, I noticed smoke.  Oh no!  I had made my mashed potatoes and put them in a casserole dish with some butter on top to reheat and the butter had boiled over the side and was smoking like crazy!  I opened windows and turned on fans and as soon as it reached the living room, the guests arrived.  Of course!  Isn't that how it always goes?  At least I grabbed the food out before it tasted smoky and everything tasted pretty good.  This is also my first year making a turkey, I just made a breast, but it's a start!

I was so busy I completely forgot to take any pictures but I grabbed a couple on my phone.
Beau helped me by napping with baby.  Thanks, I guess?  No, he helped out quite a bit including keeping the girls happy while I buzzed around the kitchen.

I decided to be fancy this year and break out the china.  I was putting it back yesterday and I noticed I used the cream dish thing for the gravy instead of the gravy boat.  Haha, I guess I'm not as fancy as I thought!

Last week I mentioned we went to Aubree's awesome karate party and here are the pictures!
She was ready to chop-kick someone!
All the fuss wore out baby Charlotte.

The kids had so much fun doing the exercises.
Charlotte had fun playing on the floor and watching the kids run around.
I love this picture of Beau, this is the face he always makes when he talks to the baby.

The party was so fun, good friends, food, and fun, that's just what parties should be like!

Last, I was looking through pictures the other day and I found this one of Landon and Zoey on Halloween the first year we lived here.  They look like babies!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!  We have our tree and decorations up, our holiday cheer is in full swing!

Silly faces

I upgraded my iPhone to a newer, better, faster, way awesome iPhone a few weeks ago.  I love it so much, I'm still amazed how fast it is!  I didn't get the brand new one with Siri, it looks cool though.
Mine has this cool feature that allows you to see yourself to take self-portraits, I love it, and so does Zoey.  I found these today, she took these in the car on the way home from a super fun birthday for her friend Aubree.  Without further ado, my first born:

I love her to pieces, she makes me laugh all the time and I love her personality.  The birthday girl recieved some play make-up for her birthday and dolled a few of the girls up, including Zoey.  She loved it, I think she might get some make-up for Christmas.

I've got some really cute pics of the party, it was at a karate party and the kids had a blast!  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Who's who?

The other night I was walking down my stairs and I have this frame on my wall of a bunch of different pictures.  I made it a couple years ago when we first moved to Texas.  A picture in the bottom corner caught my eye, it was one of Beau and Zoey when she was about one year old.  I had to stop and stare, she looked so much like Charlotte.  I got out my old pictures and set up a little contest to see if y'all can guess who is who!  Leave me a comment and good luck!

*Updated* I turned the comments on haha, that should help

Catching up

Things have been pretty busy these days, we found out we will be leaving Texas around Christmas so we have been trying to organize and get things in order to move.  I can't believe it's happening so fast!  It's already the middle of November with Thanksgiving just around the corner!

It was picture day the other day, Zoey was so excited to get to wear her pretty dress.  We've been saving it so she didn't stain it or anything before picture day.
Can I tell you how nice it is to have sunshine in the mornings?  We've been going to bed earlier and having happy mornings, I love this time change.
We went to Landon's 5th birthday party on Sunday, Priscilla always does such a super job!  Her mom made her this awesome apron and bunting.  She had a bouncy castle and tons of food, we had a great time catching up and playing.  I didn't get to take many pictures, Charlotte was kinda fussy.  She didn't get much of a nap and had some stranger danger again.  Silly girl!
I've been working on getting our videos on YouTube, it seems the easiest way to get them on the Internet for my mom and other family to watch.  I have this one of Charlotte and Zoey from the other day it's super cute.  Go check it out here!

I hope everyone had a great weekend, we sure did!  I have been busy looking up new recipes for Thanksgiving, I love going all out.  We are still trying to work up some plans, Beau has that Thursday off but works the weekend.  We also have a birthday party on Friday and Zoey is so excited to go, it's a karate party.  Should be fun!

6 months

Wow, does time fly by, I can't believe my baby girl is half a year old.  She had her 6 month check-up today and the doc was very pleased with her.  She weighs 15 lbs 10 oz, is 24 1/2 inches long, and her head is 17 inches.  Her last check-up was 2 months ago and since then she has gained 2 pounds, grew 2 inches, and her head is 1 1/2 inches bigger.  Crazy!  I think she is finally coming out of her stranger-danger period, she was smiling and happy to see everyone at the dr's office.  I really love her doctor, Zoey, Charlotte, and I all see him and we are really going to miss him when we leave.  I'm going to try to squeeze in her 9 month check-up before we head to Kansas.

I was trying to take some pictures of her cute outfit before we left/she spit up on it and the cat kept jumping on the bed and distracting her.  I could hardly get her to look at me!  I probably pushed the cat off the bed 10 times and she'd jump right back up and lay down, silly kitty.
My pretty girl.  Ah, I could just squeeze those cheeckies!

This was the very first time Cupid has ever messed with her.  She was sitting on the floor playing and he just came up and laid by her.  She would slowly raise her hand to touch him and he would ever so gently push it back down onto the boppy.  They did that back and forth for a while, it was so sweet.

She was talking to me while I was cooking the other day.
Haha she is so laid back, I think I tried on 5 different headbands.  Zoey never would let me do anything like that!  She would have it swiped off in a heart beat.

Zoey is such a great big sister, I can't say it enough.  I appreciate her so much, she helps me do so much without even being told and is happy to do it.  I went through Charlotte's clothes yesterday and came across a preemie outfit so I gave it to Zoey for her dolls.  All afternoon she had one doll or another stuffed up her shirt, being pregnant, giving birth on the floor beside the bed, dressing them up, asking me if I thought they were "Oh so adorable" and eventually feeding them.  Sometimes I don't know what to say to her, she's such a funny girl.
I promise to take pictures of the other members of my family this week, it's just so hard to resist this beautiful face!

That's IT!

Dear Justin Bieber,
You have officially worn out your welcome.  Every time I turn the corner and see you standing there smirking at me my heart leaps out of my chest.  EVERY single time.  Maybe if you weren't 6 feet tall and wearing all black you wouldn't be such a scary figure there in the corner.  You've scared Beau a couple times and the cat still puffs up if you are moved around at all.  I think you might have to go live with a new family.  Don't take it personally.

Sincerely scared,
Aften

Halloween!

We had such a fun Halloween this year! We met up with our friends we met up with last year and the year before.  There was some sad talk about how this is the last year we can all get together and do this since we are leaving and the Teague's got orders.  But enough of that, here's some pictures!

Zoey helped me get her staff and Charlotte's ears made.  I broke down and bought Zoey's costume, it was stressing me out, but I made Charlotte's by sewing cotton balls on a onesie and sewing some felt ears on a hat.  I made Zoey's staff with a Christmas candy cane decoration that I covered with electrical tape and then put some ribbon on it.  She loved it!
Zoey and I made pumpkin rice krispie treats last weekend, they were yummy!
We stopped by Ms. Gail's house before heading to meet everybody and baby Charlotte fell asleep on the way there.  She was so mad I drew her nose on, she fought me the whole time.  By the end of the night she had rubbed most of it off haha.

There's my Little Bo Peep and her lost sheep!

Everybody was so excited to go trick-or-treating!
Did I tell you about the cutest sleepy sheep ever?
We were taking pictures of the kids and trying to get them to say trick or treat and Jaxson kept grunting and yelling, it was so funny!  He was the cutest little scarecrow I've ever seen.
Zoey loved her dress so much!
Ok, I promise, that's the last one haha.

She finally woke up!  I think she had just as much fun watching the kids run around in their costumes as they did.

Beau was such a trooper to come with us, he's been super sick this week.  It started out with a cold and a nasty cough and then he had a stomach bug or something.  I think he's finally on the mend, he seemed back to his feisty self this morning.

Hope everyone had just as much fun on Halloween as we did!  I think Zoey is glad it's over so she can wear her dress all the time for dress up.  I'm going to eat lunch with her at school today, she got a gold star yesterday, she was so proud of herself! She said it was really hard to be quiet all day long haha.  She really loves school and is so excited to show me everything she does, we are so proud of her!
