Kansas Trip

Whew! We have been so busy with fair, parades, sleepovers, mud fights, family time, and just about everything!  Our trip to Kansas started Monday morning after Beau picked up the last of his prescriptions he would need and grabbed his leave papers from the station.  We loaded up the car and got on the road!

We had got to about Childress, about 2 hours away from Abilene, when Beau remembered he had forgotten to sign some papers for the Medical Board people... Ugh!  We had no choice but to go back, we are lucky they let him take leave since they don't let you usually when you are going through the Med Board process.  We grabbed some lunch and headed back to Abilene, Beau took care of his stuff while the baby and I chilled at the house then we got back on the road around 5.  Beau kept saying he just wanted to take me to lunch in Childress since all we did was eat and go right back haha.

On the way we hit a ton of road construction and on one stretch a rock got kicked up and left a big dent and scratches on the hood, crap!  Oh well, it happens, it comes with the territory of taking a car on a road trip.  The next stretch a rock got kicked up and hit the windshield!  We did not have good luck at all! We rolled into Sharon around 3:00 in the morning, we were all so tired but I was sure glad to see my big girl!

The sunset on the way to Kansas
The next day Zoey had a quick picnic outside on the steps, my mom has baby barn swallows in a nest on her porch and Zoey and I talked about how lightening won't strike your house if a barn swallow builds a nest on it.  I think she was impressed haha!

My mom's red hot pokers in her yard
She can officially ride her bike!  Her older cousins and my aunt Cyndee finished teaching her this last week.  It's so funny though, she's not very stable and she loves to crash into fences and curbs and people, she's dangerous!  As of now she can stand up and peddle too, I don't know what I'm going to do with her, she's growing up too fast!  Here's her bruises and battle wounds, they look awful!

Everybody has enjoyed getting to love on Charlotte and I think she enjoys it too, for the most part haha.  Sometimes she gets a little upset but as long as she can face out and see, she is ok, my mom keeps telling me she has "nose problems" meaning she is too nosey.

Zoey is having so much fun playing with all of her cousins, they are all right around the same age and they all play so well.  We had a ton of rain the other night, my aunt got like 6 inches (sorry Abilene friends) and there were some mud holes around my aunt Becky's house.  Zoey wasn't too sure of the mud at first but she finally got into it.  I am still cleaning gunk out of her ears! Gross!

My mom hadn't been feeling well these last couple months and on Wednesday my cousin finally convinced her to call her doctor and make an appt.  She has thyroid problems and has a habit of blaming everything on it.  Turns out she had an infection and ended up staying the night in the hospital on Thursday night for some fluids.  I think she said they pumped 6 big bags of fluid in her.  Her blood pressure at one point was 73/34, way too low!  The let her out Friday morning and she's feeling much better today.  We are in charge of the cotton candy shack and tonight is the last night so hopefully she will let us do most of the work so she can take it easy.  If you know my mom that's hard work in itself!  I'm excited to enjoy the last night of fair, it's so fun seeing old friends and talking about how different everybody looks.  I'm glad we got to come back this year!

Happy Birthday!

Well, we made it to Kansas finally!  We have been super busy catching up with the family and getting stuff ready for fair.  Beau was nice enough to help Mom build a cross and set up the booth for the Methodist Church, it turned out really nice.  I need to get some pictures up from our trip but today is my mom's birthday! Happy birthday Mom, you're the best Mom and Nana ever and we love you so much!  Now, if you would only sit still long enough for me to tell ya haha!  Here's some pics of us messing on Beau's computer we laughed so hard!

Happy birthday Nana Kriss!!!!

Quiet

It has been sooooo quiet here without my little chatterbox around and too hot to do much of anything so I really don't have anything to blog about haha.  I've been taking more pictures with my phone and I have the Instagram app that I love that doctors up my pictures.  Here's a few:

First thing in the morning, she's so happy

Pretty kitty

So sweet!

He's always eye-balling me

Zoey took this the other day it makes me giggle
Zoey's having a great time in Kansas with the family, her older cousin is helping her with her bike riding, Granny C is teaching her about rednecks haha, and she's having tons of sleepovers.  I don't think she misses us at all!

Amarillo trip

We had so much fun on our little road trip to Amarillo.  It was a quick fun weekend and it was so nice to get away for a couple days!
The windmill farms on the way
Charlotte did really well, we were a little worried since she doesn't like the car seat much when we do errands around town, she just wanted us to hold the pacifier in her mouth and she liked to rub your hand.  Beau spent a good part of the trip with his arm in the backseat haha.  Of course Zoey did great she had her DVD player and a few toys, she's always been a trooper on road trips.

We arrived and met up at an A&W to kill some time before we could check into the hotel, Zoey was so happy to finally see Nana and Papa!
We hung out and then unloaded all of our stuff at our rooms, swam a little, then headed to a mall for a bit.  It was so busy and there was so many people that we didn't stay very long and decided to go get some food.  We went to this really cool place and of course I didn't take my camera.  I was so disappointed!  I got one kinda ok pic with my phone and I took a couple with Beau's phone, I'll have to get them off of his.

The next morning we grabbed some breakfast and then visited in the motel room before we all had to take off for home.  Zoey snuggled with Charlotte on the bed and I was trying to get some pictures so Nana thought it would be funny to stick her head in there.  Charlotte grabbed a huge handful of her hair and wouldn't let go which Zoey thought was hilarious!  It was pretty funny and that's what Nana gets for trying to crash my pictures!

Pretty soon it was time to say goodbye, Zoey couldn't have cared less, she was all packed up in Nana's car and probably wouldn't have even said bye if Beau hadn't reminded her.

After that we headed out and I sat in the back seat with Charlotte for the last part of our trip.  She was so happy to see somebody sitting with her it was sweet.  I painted her toenails for the first time the other day and I took her socks off for a bit and the polish must have caught her eye because she stared at them for a while, it was cute.

I held her paci in for her and soon enough she was going...

going...

gone...

Tired

We got back from our weekend trip from Amarillo and I am tired. Very tired. So tired that I just realized the popsicle I grabbed 3 hours ago melted in it's cup untouched on my coffee table while I got caught up on my blogs. I will have lots of pictures and funny stories tomorrow and hopefully I can be just like this sweet girl here soon, sleeping away.

Good night!

Can you hula?

We went on a little walk the other evening, headed to the park, and we almost got there when the wind kicked up and kept taking poor baby Charlotte's breath away.  We had to turn around and decided to hang out in the backyard for a bit since it was a little more sheltered.  Beau had to demonstrate how to hula-hoop and I think Zoey got the hang of it!  I tried too but thank goodness Beau didn't grab the camera and take pictures of me haha!

I love this one, Zoey is belly laughing at Daddy hula-hooping with his neck, it was pretty funny
I've been busy preparing for our trip to Amarillo this weekend.  We are meeting my parents and passing off Zoey to them for a whole week by herself in Kansas!  She is so excited and said she won't miss Dad and Mom too much, just the babe.  Thanks a lot Zoey!

Today I was taking a shower and I could hear Zoey singing to Charlotte to entertain her.  She is such a big help, I am so thankful she loves "the babe" so much.  At first she sang California Girls for a while and then started to make up songs.  Some of her lyrics were "We could fight the pillows, otherwise known as a pillow fiiiiiiight." and "You better be good, or you can't go to Kansaaaaaas.  You want to go to Kansaaaaaas because you will have fuuuuun." I think that one was sung to the tune of the ABC's.
Can it be? A normal picture!!!
She asked me to switch the month on her calender in her room, we're a little behind, and I said, "Oh look, Nana's birthday is on the 27th."  She said, "I know just what to get her, she needs new bras.  Her bras are just so old."  She cracks me up!
Haha! I had been making funny faces at her and she kept giving me dirty looks
Well I'm going to finish up some laundry and I promised Zoey we would go somewhere shopping today, maybe just a quick trip to the BX.  I could stay in the house forever but she's just like Beau, always on the go go go!

Mobile Mondays

These are a little old, but they are my favorites from my phone.
